The ABS Mirror Imaging System provides the capability to maintain a duplicate copy of each branch office’s database at the home office. This branch database is updated automatically overnight on a daily basis and is accessible to the appropriate home office staff.
At each branch office a copy of the branch’s operating database is automatically maintained on the branch’s computer. After the branch closes out for the day,
database changes are automatically sent to the home office via overnight telephone transmission. The home office computer will then have a Mirror Image of each branch office’s database.
The integrity of the Mirror Image database was of the utmost importance in the development of MIS and safeguards have been implemented to assure accuracy. When successfully completed, MIS will remove the requirement for daily branch office backups. Database backups will be produced at the home office for all branch data.
